Place story
It is said that Segeomjeong was built as a resting place for soldiers during the construction of Bukhansanseong Fortress during the reign of King Sukjong of the Joseon Dynasty (reign 1674-1720), and it is also said to be a pavilion built for the entertainment of King Yeonsangun (reign 1494-1506). It is said that the name Segeomjeong originated from the fact that during the Injo Rebellion in 1623 (the 15th year of King Gwanghaegun's reign), the dethronement of Gwanghaegun was discussed here and the sword was sharpened and sharpened. This pavilion is T-shaped in plan, and the roof is a gable roof that is shaped like the letter 八 when viewed from the side. It was repaired in the 24th year of King Yeongjo's reign (1748), but burned down in 1941. It was restored to its original appearance in 1977 and remains today. Segeomjeong is a pavilion that symbolizes peace, and is a valuable resource for experiencing the true taste of Korean architecture, as it was designed to be in harmony with nature.
