Place story
Seokpajeong is a representative annex garden from the late Joseon Dynasty, boasting traditional architecture and a beautiful garden in harmony with nature. It was originally a separate residence of the Andong Kim family, but Heungseon Daewongun, a politician in the late Joseon Dynasty, purchased it and named it Seokpajeong after his own name, “Seokpa.”.

석파정은 조선 후기의 대표적인 별서 정원으로, 자연과 조화를 이루는 전통 건축과 아름다운 정원을 자랑한다. 본래 안동 김 씨 가문의 별정이었으나, 조선 후기 정치가인 흥선대원군이 매입해 자신의 이름인 “석파(石坡)”를 따서 석파정이라고 명명했다.
