Steps
- 01
Call 119 for breathing difficulty, loss of consciousness, severe bleeding, or another immediate danger.
- 02
State the location, patient count, main symptom, and need for interpretation.
- 03
For non-emergency care, search your current city or district in the E-gen hospital finder. Save the result’s phone and address; before travelling, ask whether patients are accepted today, the relevant department, interpretation availability and estimated cost. Find your insurer’s Assistance number on the policy and give the policy number and symptoms. In immediate danger, call 119 without waiting for this search.
- 04
At reception, show the passport, symptom start time, medicines, and allergies.
- 05
Ask what documents the insurer requires.
- 06
Keep itemized receipts, medical certificates, and prescriptions.
Before you start
- Save the travel-insurance policy number and assistance phone number offline.
- Record medicine ingredients, doses, and allergies.
- Keep a passport copy and accommodation address separately.
Easy points to confuse
- Delaying emergency help to compare prices
- Showing only a foreign brand name without ingredient or dose
- Assuming insurance pays every provider directly
Practical example
Example: if a companion has trouble breathing and becomes confused, do not delay to compare clinics. Call 119, state the building and floor, number of patients, breathing difficulty, and need for interpretation, then show responders the medicine and allergy list.
