Place story
Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond are remains of a secondary palace of the Silla royal court in Gyeongju. Banquets marked royal celebrations and welcomed important guests. The pond was created in 674, the fourteenth year of King Munmu's reign. Today you can explore the reconstructed pavilions and the pond, whose illuminated reflections are a familiar evening sight.
