Place story
Since the electric light was turned on for the first time at Gyeongbokgung Palace in 1887, KEPCO has established itself as a pivotal industry in our society today by overcoming the Japanese colonial rule, the division of North and South Korea, and the pain of national violence called the Korean War together with the people. Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO), which has grown steadily despite the turbulent history of the 20th century and has become a driving force in the development of the national economy, is constantly striving to develop a power culture with unlimited responsibility for the national economy and customers. KEPCO established the Electricity Museum to systematically organize and preserve the history of electricity in the past century and inform people about the importance of electricity and the development process of modern science. The Electricity Museum is the wish of electric power people to pass on to future generations the precious electric power cultural heritage containing the soul of electric power people.
