Place story
Sukjeongmun is one of the four great gates of Seoul's fortress wall and the northern gate of Hanyangdoseong. It was originally called Sukcheongmun before its name changed to Sukjeongmun. Among the surviving fortress gates, it is the only one with walls connected on both sides. The gate tower was rebuilt in 1976. Access was prohibited for security around the Blue House, but the gate reopened in April 2006 together with 0.5 km of western fortress wall and 0.6 km of the northern approach. It was included in Seoul Hanyangdoseong and designated Historic Site No. 10 on January 21, 1963.
