Place story
Seongsu is a former semi-industrial district where shoemaking, printing, metalwork, and vehicle workshops operated for decades. After Seoul Forest opened nearby in 2005, old factories and warehouses were reused as cafés, galleries, brand showrooms, and pop-up venues, especially around Yeonmujang-gil. It is still a working neighborhood rather than a single attraction, and that mix of industry and new creative businesses is the point of visiting.

성수동은 서울 동쪽의 준공업지역으로, 수제화·인쇄·금속·자동차 정비 같은 제조업 작업장이 오랫동안 자리한 동네입니다. 2005년 인근 서울숲 조성 이후 낡은 공장과 창고를 활용한 카페·갤러리·브랜드 쇼룸·팝업 공간이 늘었고, 연무장길을 중심으로 산업 풍경과 소비 문화가 겹쳐졌습니다. 지금도 모든 골목이 관광지는 아니며, 운영 중인 매장과 작업장이 함께 있는 생활권이라는 점이 성수의 실제 모습입니다.
